KEHINDE AKINPELU, ILORIN
The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Kwara State Chapter, has described as false, misleading, and malicious a post circulating online, alleging that Alhaji Shehu Garba, the state Chairman was arrested over kidnapping and terrorism-related offences.
In a statement personally signed by the chairman ,Alhaji Shehu Garba said that the allegation is entirely false, baseless, and fabricated by the enemies of peace.
According to him there was no time he was arrested, invited, interrogated, or investigated by any security agency in Kwara State or elsewhere in Nigeria in relation to kidnapping, terrorism, or the sponsorship of banditry.
He said there is no security report, no official record, and no credible source to support the claims made in the post by “Kwara Update.”
Alhaji Garba explained that the write-up is a calculated attempt to tarnish his image as a respected community leader who has consistently worked with government authorities, security agencies, and traditional institutions to promote peaceful coexistence, dialogue, and security across Kwara State.
He noted that he is widely known for his commitment to conflict resolution and law-abiding .
The Miyyeti Allah chairman said the use of phrases such as “terrorism,” “Fulani bandits,” and “admission to kidnapping” without evidence is not only irresponsible but dangerous, adding that such act fuels ethnic profiling, incites public resentment, and undermines ongoing efforts to build trust between communities and security institutions.
He emphasised that MACBAN, as an association, has repeatedly and publicly condemned kidnapping, banditry, and all forms of criminal activity—regardless of who is involved.
Alhaji Garba demand for an immediate retraction of the false publication and a public apology Failure to do so will leave him with no option but to pursue all lawful means to protect his integrity and reputation.
He urged the general public to disregard the said post in its entirety and always verify information through official channels before sharing.
