Mopamuro ADC Passes Vote of Confidence in Leke Abejide, Disowns Kingsley Ogga, Rejects Alleged Party Hijack Plot
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) chapter in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State has reaffirmed its loyalty to Elder Leke Abejide, declaring him as the authentic National Leader of the party.
In a unanimous resolution reached during a meeting of Mopamuro ADC executives and key stakeholders, the party expressed total confidence in Abejide’s leadership and dismissed recent political maneuvers aimed at undermining his authority.
Addressing reporters after the meeting, the stakeholders categorically stated that Kingsley Ogga, a former member of the party, no longer has any standing within the ADC. They recalled that Ogga had been expelled from the party for alleged misconduct and highhandedness, stressing that he owes no obligation to the party and cannot exercise any authority over its members.
“Mr. Ogga has since ceased to be a member of our party following his expulsion. He has no locus standi to issue directives, impose sanctions, or serve suspensions on anyone in the ADC,” the statement read in part.
The group further distanced itself from what it described as an “evil coalition” allegedly working to wrest control of the party from its legitimate leaders. They vowed to resist any attempt to hijack the party structure in Mopamuro or elsewhere.
“We remain united and committed to protecting the integrity of the ADC in Mopamuro and across Kogi State. No individual or group will be allowed to hijack the party we have labored to build,” the stakeholders declared.
The meeting was attended by Chief Micheal Olorunju; Hon. Obasun Solomon, Chairman Mopamuro ADC; Sinachi Chinedu, Secretary Mopamuro ADC; Lydia Abe, Women Leader Mopamuro ADC; Felix Fagbemi; Taiye Aleju; Bola Obanro; and Deji Obaro, Chairman of Ward Chairmen. Hon. Akeem Mohammed represented the Chairmen in endorsing the unanimous decision.
With this development, the Mopamuro ADC has once again thrown its full weight behind Elder Leke Abejide, positioning him as the unchallenged leader in the face of emerging political tensions within the party.
