More Women Benefit from Braimoh Empowerment Programme
Another set of women yesterday benefitted from the Olayinka Braimoh Empowerment Initiative as they got some money to aid their various businesses and also participated in a training programme on how to grow their businesses.
The initiative is being sponsored by Braimoh who is the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the November 11 election and is aimed at helping to boost the businesses of ordinary women across the 21 local government areas of the state.
The beneficiaries this time are from Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi West Senatorial District and the selection was made based on merit. The first set of beneficiaries came from Ijumu Local Government Area and this means that the empowerment Programme has been completed in the Kabba-Bunu-Ijumu Federal constituency.
This leaves 19 more LGAs and eight more federal constituencies even as the businessman-turned-politician promised that in the next three to four months, he would have spread the benefits of the empowerment Programme to all the wards and local government areas.
“We plan to aid our women by injecting money into their businesses and ensuring that we can make some difference in their lives. We found out that what some of these women need to start some businesses or sustain the ones they have is little. A very small amount of money can help these women.
“Also after the injection of funds, we are Organising training programmes for the beneficiaries to enable them to know more about basic record keeping and positive trade measures they need to take to improve their businesses and keep afloat while also generating more money.
“ This means we are not only improving the financial base for their businesses, but we are also raising their capacity to be efficient in their work and make more money.
“This programme is in line with the wealth creation, wealth retention, and wealth distribution agenda of the AA and its ticket for the November 11 elections. Our people are brilliant and they have no reason to be poor. However, they require visionary, dynamic, empathetic, and courageous leadership to properly guide them to prosperity and development”, Braimoh stated.
He urged the women to ensure they do not divert the money being given for business to social activities as he said they must keep their expenditure out of the funds meant for keeping their business running.
In their response, some of the beneficiaries expressed happiness that they were part of those lucky to have been selected by the AA candidate. They, therefore, promised to fully apply the money they got from the initiative to their business and monitor its impact on their businesses.
They also prayed to God to bless Braimoh and help him achieve his ambition as according to them he is a leader who can make a difference in the life of the people, raise their standard of living and banish poverty from the state if elected and entrusted with public office.
