Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris Celebrates Former Governor Yahaya Bello at Birthday, Describes Him as a Visionary Leader and Architect of Modern Kogi State

The Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning in Kogi State, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA, has extended warm birthday wishes to the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, CON, fondly known as the White Lion, as he marks another year of impactful life and service.

In a personal goodwill message, Mukadam Asiru Idris paid glowing tribute to the former governor, describing him as a courageous leader, visionary statesman, mentor, and one of the most influential figures in the political and developmental history of Kogi State.

He noted that beyond the celebration of a birthday, the occasion presents an opportunity to reflect on a leadership journey that left an indelible mark on the state and inspired many young people to believe in the possibilities of public service.

“Today, I join your family, friends, associates, political allies, and countless admirers across the country in celebrating a remarkable leader whose vision, courage, and determination helped redefine governance in Kogi State.”

“Your Excellency, your years in office represent one of the most significant periods in our state’s history. At a time when bold decisions were required, you showed uncommon courage, challenged old ways of doing things, and laid the foundation for a more inclusive and forward-looking Kogi State.”

Mukadam Asiru Idris observed that one of Yahaya Bello’s most enduring qualities was his willingness to take difficult decisions in the interest of the people, even when such decisions were unpopular or politically demanding.

He also commended the former governor for his unwavering belief in merit, innovation, and youth participation, noting that many young professionals were given opportunities to serve and contribute meaningfully to governance under his administration.

“I remain personally grateful for the confidence you placed in me and in many other young people who were entrusted with critical responsibilities. You demonstrated that leadership is not merely about holding office, but about identifying potential, nurturing talent, and creating opportunities for others to grow and succeed.”

Reflecting on his years working closely with the former governor, Mukadam described him as a leader whose commitment to accountability, fiscal discipline, transparency, and institutional reforms helped establish a solid framework for sustainable governance.

According to him, many of the milestones achieved in public financial management, debt sustainability, budget implementation, and fiscal transparency were made possible by the enabling environment created through the New Direction Administration.

“Your foresight in embracing reforms and encouraging innovation positioned Kogi State among the leading reform-oriented states in Nigeria. The recognitions and commendations received from national and international institutions in areas of fiscal management, transparency, accountability, and public sector reforms remain a testament to the vision that guided your administration.”

He further acknowledged Yahaya Bello’s contributions to youth and women empowerment, security, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and economic growth, describing them as lasting legacies that continue to impact the lives of Kogites.

Beyond politics and governance, Mukadam said the former governor has remained a source of inspiration to many because of his resilience, loyalty, conviction, and unwavering commitment to the causes he believes in.

“As I celebrate you today, I do so not only as someone who had the privilege of serving in your administration, but also as one who witnessed firsthand your passion for service, your dedication to the progress of our state, and your determination to create opportunities for future generations.”

“You have continued to inspire many of us through your courage, strategic thinking, and steadfast belief that meaningful change is possible when leadership is driven by vision, conviction, and genuine commitment to the people.”

Mukadam Asiru Idris prayed for God’s continued guidance, protection, wisdom, and good health upon the former governor as he marks another milestone.

“On this special day, I pray that Almighty Allah blesses you with many more years in good health, peace, happiness, and fulfilment. May He continue to grant you wisdom, strength, and grace for greater service to humanity and our nation.”

“May the years ahead bring even greater accomplishments, renewed strength, and countless opportunities to continue making a positive difference in the lives of others.”

“Happy Birthday, Your Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, CON. May your legacy continue to inspire generations, and may Allah’s blessings remain upon you always.”

Signed

Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA
