NAFDAC SENSITIZES ATWAP ON GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICE

The need to uphold best practices in the production processes of table water took center stage , Monday, may 12th, 2025, at the Auditorium of Nigerian National merit Award House, Maitama Abuja, as the Association of Table Water Producers Nigeria ( ATWAP), federal Capital Territory chapter (FCT), in Collaboration with the National Agency For Food And Drug Administration And Control ( NAFDAC), held a Sensitization Workshop for Table Water Producers in the Nation’s Capital.

Addressing members of the Association, the Director General, National Agency For Food And Drug Administration And Control ( NAFDAC), Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, who was represented by Kenneth Onyeogbani Azikiwe, the federal Capital Director of the Agency, urged participants to ensure and also sustain strict Compliance to good Manufacturing practices in production process at all times, adding that the agency would Sustained it monitoring and inspection of factories or plants at an unscheduled time without prior information to them, lamenting situations where some operators engaged in Sharp and unwholesome practices immediately after they might have gotten their operational license.

Continuing, the Director General warned that the Agency under her leadership will not Condone Sharp practices that could put the lives of many Nigerians at risk, promising of severe Sanctions for any manufacturer who operates below set Standards.

 

Speaking exclusively to the media,she also pointed out that such Sensitization becomes very imperative, as it gives room for feedbacks on the efforts of the agency in regulating activities of manufacturers and to also know other areas needing their attention, more so that, it has become the habits of some Manufacturers to deviate from good manufacturing practice after being certified.she added.

In his remarks, the President of the Association of Table Water Producers of Nigeria,(ATWAP), Federal Capital Territory, Chapter, Hon. Muhammed Okpanachi Akuh , Commended the leadership of the National Agency for Food And Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), for their unwavering Commitments towards instilling best manufacturing practice on ATWAP , through their Continuous Sensitization, urging members to imbibe and imbue all they had learned for improved productivity.
