NGE Applauds Kogi Govt. Construction of Ganaja flyover Bridge
… as VP described the bridge as product of good thinking, good idea.
The Vice President, Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mr. Sheddy Ozoene, has described the Ganaja flyover Bridge as a product of good thinking, good idea and conceived by the previous administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
The Vice President and other Members of the Guild gave their commendation in Lokoja when Members of the association embarked on a media tour to some projects executed by the previous administration of Gov. Yahaya Bello on Saturday. The NGE at the weekend held it NEC meeting in Lokoja.
Mr. Sheddy said he has had the singular opportunity to travel through Lokoja before now, expressed his commendation to the State Government for reducing the gridlock associated with the Ganaja junction and the aesthetic beautification the flyover bridge has added to the State capital.
The Members of the Guild urged for the proper maintenance of the bridge and particularly asked for measures that would avert hoodlums using under the bridge as hideouts.
The Members of the Guild showered glowing tributes to former Governor Yahaya Bello for the idea, said he has no doubt laid a solid foundation for the administration of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo.
Earlier in a remarks, Akogu Alhassan, Director, Kogi State Ministry of Works, said the Ganaja flyover bridge was conceived and funded by the past government of former Gov Yahaya Bello.
The idea behind the construction of the bridge the Director explained was to ease traffic and gridlock around the junction, expressed satisfaction that it has lead to free flow of traffic during peak periods.
He also mentioned that the immediate past administration was the first in the State history to build a flyover bridge, mentioned tye intervention the administration made on some federal roads, serving as escape roads from the State Capital.
