The Niger Delta APC Progressive Movement for Renewed Hope Initiative has thrown its full weight behind the re-election bid of Delta Central Senator, Ede Dafinone, ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing what it described as his outstanding performance, quality representation, and impressive legislative achievements since assuming office in the National Assembly.

The endorsement was made public by General John Abugor, who serves as the Delta Central Chairman of the group, Delta State Vice Chairman, and a prominent national officer of the organization.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting held Today June 1st 2026 at Otor -Udu Headquarters of Udu LGA of Delta State, Abugor stated that Senator Dafinone has distinguished himself through purposeful leadership, people-oriented representation, and unwavering commitment to the development of Delta Central Senatorial District.

According to General Abugor, the senator’s performance record remains one of the strongest justifications for his return to the Red Chamber in 2027. He noted that Dafinone has consistently demonstrated competence, accessibility, and legislative effectiveness, qualities which have endeared him to constituents across the eight local government areas that make up Delta Central.

Speaking further he added:
“Senator Ede Dafinone has done exceptionally well. His intimidating dossier of achievements speaks eloquently for itself. We do not need to manufacture reasons to support him because the evidence is visible across the district. From legislative interventions to constituency empowerment and strategic engagement with federal agencies, he has remained focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to our people,” Abugor declared.

The APC chieftain further emphasized that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu requires experienced lawmakers who understand governance, policy formulation, and effective representation. He argued that Senator Dafinone belongs to that category of leaders whose expertise and professional background have brought credibility and substance to legislative engagements at the national level.

Political observers have often pointed to Dafinone’s robust contributions on the floor of the Senate, particularly in areas concerning fiscal responsibility, economic reforms, youth development, infrastructure expansion, and the welfare of constituents. As a respected financial expert and chartered accountant before venturing into politics, Dafinone brought decades of professional experience into legislative service, earning recognition among colleagues and stakeholders for his analytical contributions to national policy discussions.

General Abugor noted that beyond legislative debates, the senator has maintained regular engagement with grassroots communities across Delta Central. He highlighted various empowerment initiatives, educational support programs, skills acquisition opportunities, and interventions in critical sectors that have positively impacted thousands of constituents.

He further commended the senator’s commitment to youth inclusion and human capital development, describing him as a leader who understands the aspirations of the younger generation.

According to him, numerous youths and women have benefited from empowerment schemes and training programs facilitated through the office of the senator.

The Niger Delta APC Progressive Movement for Renewed Hope Initiative also praised Senator Dafinone’s loyalty to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his steadfast support for policies aimed at strengthening democratic governance and economic prosperity.

The group maintained that continuity in leadership would enable the senator to consolidate on ongoing projects and attract additional federal opportunities to Delta Central.
Abugor stressed that the endorsement was not merely a political declaration but a reflection of the sentiments of many party faithful, community leaders, professionals, youths, women groups, and stakeholders who have monitored the senator’s performance since his election.
“We believe that leadership should be evaluated based on performance, accessibility, integrity, and commitment to the people. Senator Ede Dafinone has met these standards. Our movement is therefore united in supporting his second-term aspiration because we are convinced that he still has much more to offer Delta Central and Nigeria at large,” he said.
The group also called on APC members across the senatorial district to remain united and focused on consolidating the party’s growing influence in Delta State. It urged constituents to continue supporting leaders who have demonstrated capacity and commitment to public service.
As political consultations ahead of the 2027 elections gradually gather momentum, the endorsement by the Niger Delta APC Progressive Movement for Renewed Hope Initiative is expected to add significant weight to Senator Dafinone’s political standing within Delta Central.

Political analysts believe that such endorsements from influential grassroots organizations and stakeholder groups gives filip the growing confidence in the senator’s leadership and representation.

For many supporters, the message from General John Abugor was clear and unequivocal: Senator Ede Dafinone’s record of service, legislative productivity, and commitment to the welfare of Delta Central people have earned him the trust and confidence necessary for a second tenure in the Senate come 2027.
