NIGER STATE GOVERNOR, UMARU BAGO PROPOSES N1.20tn BUDGET FOR 2025
The Niger State Government at its Executive Council meeting on the 26th November 2024 presented a draft 2025 fiscal year budget estimate of N1.20tn for Council approval, making the presentation, the Hon. Commissioner of Planning, Mustapha Ndajiwo informed the Council that the estimate is made up of N188.42bn or 15.68% recurrent and 1.01tn or 84.34% capital expenditure respectively. He said when compared with the approved budget of 2024, the estimate represents an increase of 32.94%.
The Commissioner in his analysis further stated that even though the 2024 approved budget was supplemented with the sum of N191.98bn, the breakdown of the draft 2025 proposals revealed an increase of 1.18% and 32.98% in recurrent and capital expenditure respectively.
The Farmer Governor in his remarks stressed that the size of the estimate was informed by the gap in infrastructure and key development areas and the inflationary trend of the country.
The council approved the estimates and directed the Hon. Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon. Ndajiwo to prepare for submission to the Niger State House of Assembly.
