Nigerians Urge To Imbibe Spirit Of Mentorship,As Book On Kuliyan Of Ilorin Launched

Nigerians have been urged to invest in the Mentorship of the youth in character and entrepreneurship to enable them become good citizens.

The Dean Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences , University of Ilorin,
Professor Sa’udat Salah-Abdulbaqi,made the call while speaking at the public presentation/Launching of the book “Kuliya of Ilorin:A Life of Purpose “and Unavailing of Kuliyan Gari of Ilorin Emirate’s National Youth Mentorship Summit,held at the Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin,Kwara state.

She said mentorship is a deliberate act of guiding the youth for a purpose and become good members of the society.

According to her investing on youth mentorship is an investment for the future of the nation

Professor Abdulbaqi explained that mentorship begin at home by preparing the youth for the future.

She said the digital system can be adopted to enrolled the youth for mentorship or employment, entrepreneurship among others.

She urged the youth to see the Mentorship put forward for them as an act of charity.

The University Don,admonished the youth to always think of how they can give back to the society no matter how little to make life better for the less privileged.

In his remarks,the Emir of Ilorin,Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari expressed delight over the presentation of a book to teach the people on how to mentor others.

He said the book will go a long way in educating the youth on how to behave well in the society.

In his review of the book titled “Kuliya of Ilorin:A Life of Purpose ” the General Manager of Gari FM, Ilorin, Barrister Mahmud Abdulraheem said the book presentation is apt and timely.

He said the person whose life and time was being looked at has contributed immensely to the growth and development of the society.

For his part the Kuliyan Gari of Ilorin, Yusuf Olaolu -Ali SAN,said all human beings will fulfill the purpose of God in their lives.

He said the difference between good and bad people is very thin.

Ali advised every individual to contribute their own quota to ensure better growth and development.

In his address the author of the book ,titled “Kuliya of Ilorin:A Life of Purpose “former National auditor and Kwara state chairman of the NUJ,Mallam Biodun Abdulkareem said the good philosophic spirit of the awardee inspired him into writing the book.

He said the book will reawaken the idea of doing good by the general public to in general.
