A media advocacy group for the All Progressives Congress and the Asiwaju/Shettima Presidency, APC Media Partners Roundtable have alleged that the intended planned strike action by the Nigeria Labour Congress is an outcome of an orchestrated Politically motivated agenda that was hatched after two different meetings of the NLC led by her President, Joe Ajaero and some Political leaders of the Labour Party and People’s Democratic Party immediately after the Presidential speech on the removal of the vexatious SUBSIDY REGIME.
This was contained in a press release made available to journalists and duly signed by the group’s Executive Director, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi. The release says the group has credible report that shows that the forthcoming strike action is part of the demonic agenda of the opposition to continue hostility against the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu led Presidency, the release further said the NLC President through the sponsorship of the political class in the opposition have been mobilized to use the strike action as the first agenda to incite the nation against the government of the All Progressives Congress. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi says the intelligence within their disposal also revealed that the said Political parties have plans to instigate youth groups to stage syndicated protests across cities in Nigeria with the intention to paint the Presidency incompetent and create anarchy.
The group urge the security agencies to immediately investigate the sudden plan by NLC to embark on strike action, especially one that came in hastily while negotiations between government and the union was still ongoing. Mr. Omoluabi says the Mr Ajaero has made himself a tool in the hands of politicians to manipulate the public peace theory sponsored strike action that will further inflict hardship on the already strained populace. The release further says that the group will resist any attempt by unpatriotic forces to blackmail the hard-earned Presidential victory of the APC, he says the attempt to use mob action, subtle blackmail and national crisis to bring down the Asiwaju/Shettima Presidency would be confronted with equal National patriotic support for the nascent government.
*We are surprised that after an election have been won and lost and case ongoing at the Presidential Election petition tribunal, some undemocratic forces, wicked Political manipulators and chronic enemies of Nigeria’s progress have resorted to make the Asiwaju Tinubu led Presidency ungovernable by their sponsorship of the Nigeria Labour Congress to create national unrest through sponsored strike action against the well celebrated subsidy removal by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We are more worried that a national body like NLC could allow itself to be used as a tool to settle Political scores and create anarchy in the land, however we are glad we got necessary intelligence report on their nefarious plans and its attendant consequences on national security and peace, we therefore wish to advise Joe Ajaero, the NLC President to think of the grave implications of his plans on the poor Nigerians, the consequences of working against our national development through the removal of subsidy that have become a monster to our National development and immediately call off the planned strike action. We say this with every spirit of patriotism and commitment to a united Nigeria under a legally elected President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we however wish to assure the NLC in case they refuse to heed voice of reason and back out of the politically motivated strike action* Omoluabi says
The group commended the Trade Union Congress for being statesmanly in her statement where it insisted that negotiations must continue.
