No Pressure, Just Principle: Sen. Karimi Reaffirms Commitment to Truth and Kogi West Development
The recent visit of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi to the former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has generated several interpretations within political circles. However, it is important to set the record straight and present the truth as it stands — not as some have chosen to twist it for personal or political advantage.
Senator Karimi, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, remains a man of integrity, guided by principle and an unwavering commitment to truth and service. His visit to the former Governor was not the result of pressure or political coercion, but a conscious and patriotic decision taken in the interest of peace, unity, and the continued development of his senatorial district and Kogi State at large.
Leadership, in his words and actions, must never be about pride or division but about maturity, reconciliation, and collective progress. The Senator’s decision reflects the understanding that no society can achieve meaningful development in an atmosphere of disunity and suspicion.
Senator Karimi’s political philosophy has always been rooted in truth, transparency, and the people’s welfare. As a committed democrat, he believes that the strength of Kogi West and indeed the entire Kogi State lies in unity — not rivalry — and in collaboration rather than confrontation.
Let it be clearly stated: no one pressurized Senator Karimi into reconciliation; he acted on principle, not pressure. His loyalty remains first to the people who entrusted him with their mandate and to the progress of Kogi State under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
For the record, neither campaign noise nor political propaganda will determine President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election victory. Nigerians have seen his dedication, reforms, and national focus. The achievements of his administration speak louder than rhetoric, and his growing acceptance across all regions guarantees a resounding victory come 2027.
In Kogi West — particularly among the Okun people — the impacts of President Tinubu’s leadership are evident through federal projects, appointments, and renewed federal attention. We stand united in our belief that the President will not only win Kogi State but will secure between 80 to 85 percent of votes nationwide, owing to his performance and the people’s confidence in his vision.
To those promoting politics of hatred and bitterness, Senator Karimi calls for restraint and maturity. Politics should never divide brothers or communities. True leadership demands tolerance, understanding, and forgiveness — not pride or hostility.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) remains one big, united family in Kogi West, Kogi State, and across Nigeria. No force of division can weaken its foundation of loyalty, shared purpose, and belief in progress.
Senator Karimi stands unshaken: truth above sentiment, peace above politics, and unity above ego. His commitment to the growth and prosperity of Kogi West remains firm, and his vision for an inclusive, progressive future continues to guide his every action.
> “We can disagree, but we must not be divided. Politics is temporary, but peace and progress are permanent,” Senator Karimi stated.
