A Statement signed by the Director of Academic Planning of the National Universities Commission, Abubakar M. Girei on behalf of the Executive Secretary said the Commission has considered and approved the establishment of the full-time mode of the approved courses with effect from the 2026/2027 academic session.

It would be recalled that the panel of experts from the NUC had carried out a Resource Verification visit to some proposed undergraduate academic programmes, with a view to assessing the human and material resources available.

Reacting to the NUC’s approval of 15 new additional Courses, the acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Olugbenga Olatunji who is visibly elated praised the Commission for giving approving all the proposed courses, assuring that the University is well-equipped with world-class facilities and would not relent in ensuring that graduates of the University are world-class.

He commended the Proprietor of the University, Alhaji AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin, the Pro-Chancellor, Prof. AbdulRasheed Na’allah, members of the Governing Council, members of staff and the Board of Trustees as well as other stakeholders over the attainment of the great feat.

It would be recalled that the Commission had in August 2025 approved 14 courses for the take-off of academic programmes in the University.
Some of the courses were B.Sc. Cyber Security; B.Sc. Software Engineering; and B.Sc. Biotechnology, among others.
