NYSC Swears in 2,150 Corps Members in Kwara State.

NYSC Swears in 2,150 Corps Members in Kwara State.

No fewer than, 2,150 corps members were on Tuesday sworn in for the 2023 Batch C, Stream II orientation course in Kwara state.

Our correspondent ,reports that the Oath of Allegiance was performed by the State Chief Judge, Justice Abiodun Adebara.

Adebara was represented by Justice Hannah Ajayi, at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Yikpata in Edu Local Government Area of the state.

Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and the NYSC management for their efforts in sustaining the scheme for over 50 years.

Abdulrazaq, who was represented by his Senior Adviser and Counsellor, Mr Saadu Salaudeen, said the scheme had afforded the educated Nigerian youth to rightly channel their acquired skills, energies, talents and intellects towards national development.

He charged the corps members to adopt a serious and conscientious approach to the various activities of the orientation course in order to face the numerous challenges of the assignments that lied ahead.

The governor pledged the continuous support to the welfare and security of corps members currently serving and newly deployed to the state.

Kwara State NYSC Coordinator, Mr Olaoluwa Onifade, said 2,150 corps members have been registered which comprised of 1,110 males and 1,040 females.

Mr Onifade urged the corps members to comport themselves in a disciplined manner and charged them to abide by all rules and regulations of the authority.

He however appealed to their prospective employers who submitted request to make adequate preparation for their arrival by providing accommodation and other welfare facilities for them to put in their best.

The state coordinator further appealed to the state government and all stakeholders for more hostel facilities on camp.

Supervising Commissioner for Ministry of Youth Development and Chairman, NYSC Governing Board, Mr Usman Lade, assured the corps members of the support of the State Governing Board and utmost security and welfare prioritisation.

“I learnt you have been showing interest in all camp activities, I expect you to remain in high spirit during the orientation course and the entire service year.

“I assure you of the kind assistance and support of the state governing board, your welfare and security is the utmost concern of the state government.

“On our part, we shall ensure you are posted to areas where your services are mostly needed and ensure that your contribution to the development of your host communities is rewarded as at when due.

“I urge you to make humility, discipline and commitment your watchword and justify the efforts of the NYSC Governing Board members and the state government.

“Remember you have your family name to protect, do not allow pride to becloud you to the extent of tarnishing the good reputation of your families,” Lade said
