Oborevwori at Three: Bureau Commends Leadership, Federal Synergy, Delivery of MORE Agenda
The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has been commended for strengthening collaboration between the Delta State Government and the Federal Government, a partnership credited with expanding access to federal interventions, accelerating infrastructure delivery, and deepening economic reforms, investment promotion, and social welfare initiatives.
The commendation was contained in a statement marking the Governor’s third anniversary in office, issued in Asaba on Saturday by the Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. (Barr.) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe.
Dr. Oghenesivbe described Governor Oborevwori as a visionary and transformational leader whose people-centred governance under the MORE Agenda has continued to deliver measurable progress across key sectors since May 2023.
According to the Bureau, the administration has recorded significant achievements in road infrastructure, healthcare, education, youth and women empowerment, rural and urban development, security enhancement, job creation, sports infrastructure and human capital development, supported by fiscal discipline, project continuity, and increased support for small businesses and entrepreneurship.
It noted that beyond physical infrastructure, the Governor has provided stabilising leadership that has strengthened inclusiveness, deepened stakeholder confidence, and created an enabling environment for sustainable development and private sector participation.
Oghenesivbe further highlighted the Governor’s deliberate engagement with the Federal Government, which has enhanced intergovernmental relations and improved Delta State’s access to national programmes and development opportunities.
The Bureau observed that this growing synergy continues to yield positive outcomes in infrastructure development, economic reforms, investment promotion, and improved public service delivery.
It also underscored the role of the Bureau for Orientation and Communications in supporting the administration through strategic communication, citizen engagement, policy advocacy, creating impactful awareness for military and Paramilitary recruitment exercise and value reorientation aimed at strengthening public understanding of government policies and programmes.
Key initiatives include the Drug Free Delta Campaign, a statewide advocacy effort targeting substance abuse through public enlightenment, school outreach, and community mobilisation, as well as the Delta State Strategic Communication Workshop, which builds capacity for effective governance communication among public officials and media practitioners.
Dr. Oghenesivbe reaffirmed the Bureau’s commitment to sustained support for the Oborevwori administration, pledging intensified efforts in public communication, civic engagement, and issue-based enlightenment ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
“As the Governor continues to advance the MORE Agenda, the Bureau will remain committed to projecting government achievements, mobilising public understanding, and promoting the vision of progress, prosperity, and sustainable development for Delta State,” he said.
The management and staff of the Bureau congratulated Governor Oborevwori on his third anniversary in office, wishing him continued success, good health, and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
