Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Idris congratulated the coordinators on their nomination, noting that their selection was based on their track record and commitment to grassroots mobilization.

He urged the Cordinators to take the message of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to the grassroots ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Idris explained that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative is aimed at strengthening communication between government and the people by ensuring that the policies and achievements of the current administration are effectively communicated at the grassroots.

According to him, the structure of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will extend from the national level to the state, local government, ward and polling unit levels to ensure wider reach and participation.

He emphasized the importance of continuity in governance, stressing the need for the ambassadors to mobilize support to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 and sustain the development agenda of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in Kogi State.

The convener also highlighted several initiatives of the federal government, including reforms in the oil sector aimed at ensuring that more revenue is remitted directly into the Federation Account for the benefit of states and local governments.

He further cited the student loan initiative introduced through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, explaining that it has made it easier for Nigerian students to access educational funding without political connections.

On the state level, he commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for infrastructural development and prompt payment of workers’ salaries, noting that the administration has continued to impact positively on the lives of citizens across the state.

He therefore urged the ambassadors to engage communities, educate citizens on government policies and achievements, and counter misinformation through sustained grassroots mobilization.

In his remark, the Zonal Coordinator for Kogi Central, Rt. Hon. Momohjimoh Lawal, stressed the need for improved media engagement to properly showcase the achievements of the government.

According to him, while the administration has recorded notable successes, more effort is needed to ensure that the public is adequately informed about the projects and programmes being implemented.

Hon. Lawal, who is a former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, urged coordinators to identify political stakeholders in their various local governments and engage them constructively to strengthen grassroots support for the Renewed Hope agenda.

In their separate remarks, some of the Local Government Coordinators also pledged their commitment to the success of the initiative.

The Coordinator for Ijumu Local Government, Hon. Funsho Olumoko, said the team would adopt effective grassroots strategies similar to those used during previous elections, noting that politics is largely local and requires approaches tailored to each community.

Also speaking, the Coordinator for Adavi Local Government, Hon. Sule Ananyi Sheidu, emphasized the need to take government policies and programmes directly to the grassroots, describing the Renewed Hope agenda as a platform aimed at improving the welfare of ordinary citizens.

He commended the efforts of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo, particularly in the areas of agriculture and economic development, which he said have positively impacted farmers and civil servants in the state.

Similarly, the Coordinator for Dekina Local Government, Hon. Ayuba Audu, assured the leadership of the group that members would remain committed to the assignment given to them.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by members to strengthen grassroots mobilization and public awareness of government programmes across the 21 local government areas of the state.
