Ododo’s Government Positioned to Deliver 20,000 Youths/Women Employment in four Months Through Entrepreneurial Capacity Building — APC Chieftain, Omoluabi
A prominent stalwart of the ruling All Progressives Congress from Kabba/Bunu and former Special Adviser to immediate past Governor Yahaya Bello on Civil Service and Labour Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has boasted that the government of Alh Ododo Ahmed Usman is a masses oriented leadership that is poised to achieve tremendously in the area of poverty eradication, entrepreneurial development, capacity building and job security majorly through the informal sector.
He said Governor Ododo Ahmed Usman is a man of compassion, empathy, responsibility and conscience who was raised in atmosphere of love, who imbibe character of egalitarianism and believes in the welfare of all.
Omoluabi who spoke on Wednesday at the ~please put occasion~ in Lokoja, Kogi State capital opined that these outstanding traits have built a natural drive and consistent desire for service in his heart, which he believes will have practical expression in the policies, programs and agenda of the Governor.
The former Special Adviser noted that the current economic realities have therefore geared Governor Ododo’s concerns, plans and agenda on only policies and programmes that will ameliorate the current reality Nigerian economy has thrown the people into.
Omoluabi, a youth advocate emphasized that the Governor will in the next few months make the people happy through various welfare and entrepreneurial development activities across the twenty one LGAs of the state.
Omoluabi who wields nearly two decades of experience in entrepreneurial capacity building, skills development and youth development added that the Governor during the campaign period repeatedly said his administration will be determined, ready and will pull lots of young people and women out of joblessness and lack of skills and create enabling environment for entrepreneurship development to thrive. This he said is targeted at empowering, sustaining and boosting the lower rung of the economy that encompasses over seventy percentage of the population of the youth and adult demography.
He said the Kogi people have no reason to patronize foreign or non Kogi based paint makers if the Youths across the twenty one LGAs can be trained in Paint making entrepreneurial business.
He argued that the various urban centers of the state can promote cluster soap making entrepreneurial business that will cater for the demand of the teeming population in the state, making such available to the people at cheaper rates after being trained with necessary capacity building.
He said, “it is an economic misnomer for someone in Obangede to travel to Okene to fix phones when able young population of that area can be trained in GSM repairs and Accessories business and cater for the need of the people of the area. Confectionary, Baking, Events management and decorations can be an area of entrepreneurial engagement for lots of our young women across the state if they are empowered with necessary capacity to perform.
“The agricultural value chain and available arable land all over Kogi has given a fertile ground for mechanized agricultural activities to thrive with government’s deliberate efforts to create special farms that will be a jointly owned food stuff and crops making farms between Government and cluster of youths across the state. The potentials abound in all these areas is capable of making Kogi economy great and also engage thousands of young people.
“I want to urge the people of Kogi State to keep faith with Governor Ododo Ahmed Usman as this administration is poised to bring in low hanging fruits that will give comforting economic appetizing that will form foundation of our economic prosperity in the immediate and sustain accelerated development of infrastructure, education, health, security and general development”, he noted.
Omoluabi expressed optimism that the new administration will not disappoint the people but give them unprecedented dividends of democracy.
