Ogidi Day 2023: Ododo Promises to Uphold Indigenous Kogi Culture When Elected

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 11th gubernatorial election in Kogi State, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU) has promised he would promote the indigenous culture of the state when he is elected.
He stated this on Saturday in Ogidi Community, Ijumu Local Government Area of the state in an address during the occasion of 2023 Ogidi Day Celebration.
The governorship candidate was represented by Hon. Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege also known as Fancy.
Alhaji Ododo expressed his love for the culture of the area, noting that whether in the Eastern, Western or Central Senatorial District, Kogi State is rich in cultural heritage.
He expressed gratitude to the incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello for his attention to cultural rejuvenation across the state, and gave instance of how it took the current administration of the APC to lift the ban placed on some aspects of Igala Cultural Celebration by the administration before it.
He noted that cultural tourism is a veritable alternative revenue sources if harnessed properly, noting that Governor Bello has uplifted the sector and given it the necessary attention it deserves.
Alhaji Ododo then promised to build on the legacy by ensuring indigenous Kogi culture is promoted beyond the shores of Nigeria and Africa.
Fancy Media Team (FMT) gathered that the Ogidi Day celebration is a cultural festival of Ogidi people of Kogi State which has continued to draw both local and foreign participation.
The cultural fiesta, which started in 2007 according to various sources that spoke with Fancy Media Team (FMT) has become a rallying point for the people and has attracted development to their area as well as boost the economy of the people and the state in general.
