Okun Development Initiative Hails Prof. Joash Amupitan’s Appointment as INEC Chairman

The Okun Development Initiative (ODI) has extended its warm congratulations to Prof. Joash Amupitan on his recent appointment as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The news was conveyed in a statement issued by Dcn Olusuyi Otitoju, the National Coordinator of ODI, highlighting the significance of the appointment and offering gratitude to the President.
Dcn Otitoju specifically thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what the ODI described as a “historic gesture”. The organization views the selection of Prof. Amupitan, a distinguished academic and legal luminary, to lead the nation’s foremost electoral body as a positive and momentous decision for the country.
“We are immensely proud and grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for entrusting one of our own with this crucial national responsibility,” Dcn Otitoju’s statement read. The National Coordinator emphasized the ODI’s belief in Prof. Amupitan’s capability and integrity to manage the complex and vital task of overseeing Nigeria’s electoral processes.
In concluding the felicitations, Dcn Olusuyi Otitoju, on behalf of the Okun Development Initiative, offered prayers for the newly appointed INEC Chairman. They sought divine guidance and wisdom for Prof. Amupitan to navigate the challenges inherent in his high-profile office and to ensure fair, transparent, and credible elections across Nigeria.
“Our prayers are with Prof. Amupitan as he takes on this challenging assignment. We pray that the Almighty grants him the wisdom, courage, and discernment to succeed in this new office and to uphold the tenets of democracy,” the statement concluded.
