Okun Traditional Rulers Endorse APC Candidate as Next Kogi Governor

…offer prayers for APC as November guber date approaches

Kogi traditional rulers have endorsed the APC candidate in the Nov 11th Kogi Governorship election, Alhaji Ododo Usman Ahmed as the clocks continue to tick towards the auspicious date, just as they offered royal blessings for the success of the ruling party.

This was the development on Friday as the All Progressives Congress campaign team stormed Okun Land in a bid to widen its consultations and campaign across the state.

The Obaro of Kabba, His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Owoniyi had received the train in an elaborate reception in his palace where he stressed that Okun people are not ingrates, noting that they would demonstrate their appreciation for the establishment of Kogi State University, Kabba, by voting massively for the APC and Gov Yahaya Bello for the government’s development efforts under the present administration.

He assured Alhaji Ododo that he had reserved the seat of the Executive Governor of Kogi State in his palace till after his victory at the poll.

In his remarks, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU) intimated the Obaro about the ongoing electrification project in Okun land and pledged to consolidate on the ongoing projects across Kogi West Senatorial District.

The APC candidate stressed that he has been schooled on what effective leadership entails by the current Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and that developments efforts of his government would be all encompassing.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Kabba Bunu Local Government Area, Hon Moses Olorunleke extolled the security architecture of Governor Bello since his assumption of office, and expressed appreciation to the traditional rulers for the cooperation they have been given to government in order to maintain peaceful coexistence among their subjects.

Speaking, the state commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon Wemi Jones assured the delegation that the people of Kabba Bunu will not fail to deliver bulk votes for the All Progressives Congress as a result of the developmental projects initiated and completed in Okun land under the APC led government in the state.

In a related development, the campaign team visited the palace of the Olubunu of Bunu kingdom, Oba Joseph Adebayo Ikusemoro where it further got Royal blessings.

The entire Bunu traditional council commended Governor Yahaya Bello for appointing numerous citizens of the area into juicy positions under the current administration, noting that such recognition deserves their reciprocation at the poll.

While assuring the APC candidate of overwhelming support in the election, they tasked the incoming government on more infrastructural face-lift to encourage improved growth and harnessing of the abundance natural resources in the area

Alhaji Ododo stated that the ongoing electrification project across Okun land is a step to give face-lift to all round development for the area and pledged to attend to other various demands upon assumption of office as Governor of Kogi State.

The campaign team also stopped over at the residence of Commodore Jerry Omodara (Rtd) who is the State Security Adviser to receive the endorsement of critical stakeholders in Bunu Kingdom of Kabba Bunu LGA.

The team further visited Hon Jethro Funsho Oni, a former House of Assembly member representing Kabba Bunu Constituency and other stakeholders who endorsed and promised to mobilise the people to ensure overwhelming victory for the APC in the November 11 poll.

Hon Jethro Funsho Oni supporters and stakeholders from Kabba Bunu LGA endorsed the APC Governorship Candidate.
