Okun Youths For Change Launches OKUN YOUTHS EMPOWERMENT FUND at their 2024 OKUN YOUTHS SUMMIT EMPOWERING 45 OKUN YOUTHS in Business with 50,000 each.
In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and tackling unemployment, Okun Youths for Change launched the Okun Youths Empowerment Fund (OYF) during the 2024 Okun Youths Summit held in Liza Palm, Kabba, the headquarters of okun land. The event, which attracted young people, community leaders, and key stakeholders from across the Okun region, marked a significant step in empowering the next generation.
The highlight of the summit was the disbursement of grants to 45 young entrepreneurs, each receiving ₦50,000 to support and grow their business ventures. The beneficiaries were selected through a rigorous process that prioritized innovative business proposals and a commitment to community development. This empowerment initiative seeks to create a ripple effect of economic growth in the Okun region by equipping youths with the resources to achieve self-reliance. This is in line with the emphasised Topic in the last submit ” Changing the narrative” to really impact by every possible means.
In his keynote address, the President of Okun Youths for Change described the empowerment fund as a catalyst for long-term transformation. “This is more than financial support; it’s an investment in the dreams and potential of our youths. We believe that empowering one youth impacts an entire community.”
The summit also featured Cultural ethics of the okun people and networking sessions which dealt with the diversity of names and the core advantages of passing our culture on to the next generation and motivational talks to inspire participants. The event concluded with a call for collective efforts from stakeholders to sustain the initiative and ensure the continued empowerment of Okun youths.
