By Samuel Temiloluwa

The Olorunfemi/Feyisetan family has expressed profound appreciation to family members, traditional rulers, religious leaders, political leaders, friends, associations and well-wishers who supported them during the funeral ceremony of their beloved wife and family member, late Mrs. Feyisetan Funsho.

In a statement signed by Hon. Funsho Emmanuel Olorunfemi (JP), the Obajana of Owe Land, on behalf of the family, he thanked everyone who attended the funeral and contributed in various ways to the successful completion of the ceremony.

Olorunfemi also expressed gratitude to Almighty God for what he described as a hitch-free ceremony and for granting journey mercies to dignitaries, friends and well-wishers who travelled from different parts of the country to honour the family.

He extended special appreciation to the clergy, led by the Bishop of Kabba Diocese, Rt. Rev. S. K. Akobe, PhD, as well as Ven. Elijah and other reverends who participated in the funeral.

He also thanked the choir and members of St. Michael Anglican Church, Otu, the host church, for their spiritual support and contributions to the ceremony.

The family expressed appreciation to traditional rulers who honoured the occasion, including His Royal Majesty, Oba Dele Owoniyi, Oweyomade I, the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman of the Okun Area Traditional Council, as well as other royal fathers from Owe Land, Odolu, Gbeleko, Kakun, Otu and Iduge communities.

Olorunfemi also acknowledged the support of political leaders, particularly Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, whom he described as a leader who had remained supportive to the family.

He expressed special gratitude to Distinguished Senator Steve Karimi, noting that beyond his financial support, the senator reportedly changed his flight schedule to personally attend the burial.

According to him, the gesture was a great honour to the family, adding that he would remain grateful for the senator’s support and presence.

He also appreciated Dr. Idris Oluwafemi Rufus (Idrufem), ADC candidate for the House of Representatives for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency; Arch. Salman Idris, APC candidate for the same constituency; and the Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon. Dare Zaccheaus, alongside members of his cabinet.

The family further acknowledged the presence and support of party leaders and candidates, including Hon. Abiodun Kobere, Chairman of the APC in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area; Chief Akefe Peter; Hon. Kayode Eseyin (1212), PDP candidate for Kabba Constituency I in the Kogi State House of Assembly; and Hon. Funsho E. Bolorunmi, APC candidate for Kabba Constituency I.

Olorunfemi also recognised various groups and associations that stood by the family, including the Kogi State Coordinator for WWT/Karim and directors of various units, LGA and ward coordinators, Kabba/Bunu APC women leaders, Kabba Market Women, Kabba CAN City, Ikowa-Opa Community CAN, the Drivers’ Union, Okada Riders and Tricycle Riders in Kabba.

He extended his appreciation to friends, in-laws, neighbours and other well-wishers whose names could not be individually mentioned, assuring them of the family’s gratitude.

The Obajana of Owe Land prayed that Almighty God would reward everyone who supported the family and ensure that such sorrow would never befall them.

He also prayed for safe journeys for all those who travelled to attend the funeral as they returned to their various destinations.

The statement was signed on October 8, 2026, by Hon. Funsho Emmanuel Olorunfemi (JP), Obajana of Owe Land, for the family.
