Just In: Olukayode Eseyin Emerges PDP Sole Candidate for Kabba/Bunu State Constituency 1
Olukayode Eseyin has emerged as the sole candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Kabba/Bunu State Constituency 1, clearing the way for him to fly the party’s flag in the next Kogi State House of Assembly election.
The emergence followed the PDP primary election held today, Friday, where Eseyin was returned unopposed being the only candidate that obtained the party nomination form.
Party officials described the process as peaceful and in line with the party’s guidelines.
In his acceptance remarks, Eseyin thanked party leaders and members for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to prioritize education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and rural infrastructure if elected.
“This mandate is not for me alone, it belongs to every member of our party and every resident of Kabba/Bunu Constituency 1,” Eseyin said. “I will work to ensure our people have stronger representation and access to the dividends of democracy.”
PDP leaders in the area hailed the consensus outcome as a sign of unity ahead of the general elections. They said Eseyin’s experience and grassroots reach position the party strongly in the constituency.
With the primary concluded, attention now shifts to the campaign period, where Eseyin is expected to engage voters across the constituency on the PDP’s agenda for the state assembly. The primary election was witnessed by INEC representatives
