OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY, PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR
Date: July 25, 2025
From: Kano State APC Ambassadors – 44 Local Governments
To: His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR
President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
Federal Republic of Nigeria
Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja
Your Excellency,
A Humble and Passionate Appeal for the Appointment of Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo
We extend our heartfelt greetings and unwavering loyalty to Your Excellency, and express our deep appreciation for your tireless efforts in steering our great nation toward peace, unity, and prosperity under the visionary leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
We, the Kano State APC Ambassadors, comprising stakeholders, State Executives, Senators, Members of the House of Representatives and House of Assembly, and thousands of committed grassroots members across all 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State, write to you today with utmost respect and urgency.
Your Excellency, it is our collective conviction that in order to deepen the APC’s stronghold in Kano State and further energize our support base ahead of the 2027 general elections, there is a critical need to recognize and elevate one of our most dedicated, tested, and trusted political leaders, His Excellency, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo.
Alhaji Garo is a man of immense capacity, political depth, and grassroots appeal. Over the years, he has proven himself a loyal party man and a formidable mobilizer of support for our party across every ward and local government in Kano State. Through thick and thin, he has stood firm with the APC and with the people, providing leadership, support, and unity when it was needed most.
His youthful dynamism, coupled with his tireless grassroots engagement, has endeared him to the teeming youth population — a critical bloc in our democratic landscape. He has been the face of hope for many marginalized communities and a symbol of responsive leadership. His generosity, loyalty, and sacrifice have built bridges across party lines, religious divides, and generational gaps.
Your Excellency, we strongly and humbly urge you to consider appointing His Excellency, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, into a key ministerial or strategic federal position, particularly the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, where his deep knowledge of grassroots needs can be best utilized.
We believe that such an appointment would not only reward loyalty and competence but also serve as a powerful message that your administration values the voice of the grassroots, especially in a strategic state like Kano.
Your Excellency, during your last visit to Kano, the chant that echoed across the streets — “Yaki sai da Kwamanda” — meaning “Every battle needs a Commander,” speaks volumes. In Kano APC today, that Commander is no other than Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo. Without his inclusion, it would be exceedingly difficult for any political organization to command the loyalty, passion, and electoral strength we delivered in the last elections.
As it stands, our members are clear and unanimous: they will continue to stand with the APC, but only under the inspirational leadership of our Commander, Alhaji Garo. Without him in a position of influence, we fear morale will drop, and enthusiasm for future electoral mobilization may wane. Appointing him will not only reignite our political engine but also guarantee continued and expanded support for your leadership in 2027.
Your Excellency, this letter is not just an appeal — it is a reflection of the hopes and voice of thousands of committed APC loyalists in Kano. We stand by your leadership and remain loyal to your government. However, we ask that you recognize the value of those on the frontline who have sacrificed much and delivered beyond expectations.
We remain confident in your wisdom and fairness and pray that Almighty God continues to guide and strengthen you as you lead Nigeria to greater heights.
Yours respectfully and loyally,
Hon. Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu
State Chairman, Kano State APC Ambassadors 44 Local Governments
