Open Letter to President Tinubu and APC Stakeholders.
Dear Mr. President and Esteemed APC Stakeholders,
Subject: Expression of Dismay Over Allocation of N20 Billion for the Vice President’s Residence Amidst National Hardships
We, the Progressive Amalgamation of Northern Nigeria, write to you with a deep sense of concern and disappointment regarding the recent decision to allocate over 20 billion naira for the construction of the Vice President’s residence. This decision comes at a time when our nation is grappling with severe challenges, including widespread poverty, insecurity, unemployment, poor road infrastructure, and overall economic hardship.
It is disheartening to witness such a substantial amount of public funds being directed towards a single construction project, while millions of Nigerians are struggling to meet their basic needs. The current economic climate demands that our leaders prioritize initiatives that directly address the pressing issues faced by the common citizen. The allocation of 20 billion naira for this purpose is perceived as a glaring misalignment of priorities and a disregard for the plight of the masses.
We urge the Tinubu administration to reconsider this allocation and redirect the funds towards projects that will have a more immediate and meaningful impact on the lives of Nigerians. Our region, like many others, is in dire need of economic revitalization, improved security, job creation, and infrastructure development. These are the areas that require urgent attention and investment.
The Northern region has been particularly hard-hit by the aforementioned issues, and the people are growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress. We, as representatives of this region, feel it is our duty to voice our concerns and advocate for better governance. Should the administration fail to address these critical issues and continue to prioritize projects that do not directly benefit the majority of Nigerians, we will be compelled to take decisive action in the political arena.
In this light, we want to make it unequivocally clear that we will mobilize our resources and efforts to convince the Northern region not to support the Tinubu-Shattima ticket in the 2027 elections, should the administration fail to bring about tangible economic improvements. Our loyalty lies with the people we represent, and their welfare must come first.
We believe that with strategic and compassionate leadership, it is possible to steer Nigeria towards a path of prosperity and stability. We implore you to take immediate steps to realign the administration’s priorities with the needs of the people. By doing so, you will not only regain the trust and support of the Northern region but also set a solid foundation for a stronger and more united Nigeria.
Yours sincerely,
Hon. Bala Salihu Dawakin kudu
Director General.
Progressive Amalgamation of Northern Nigeria.
