Speaking on behalf of the group, Comrade Adamu Ibrahim Muhammed congratulated Prof. Usman on his appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of his exceptional leadership qualities, administrative competence and unwavering commitment to public service.

He commended the Vice-Chancellor for his remarkable achievements in both human and infrastructural development, first at Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, and then at Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.

Comrade Muhammed noted that the visible transformation recorded in both institutions within the Vice-Chancellor’s first 100 days in office was a testament to Prof. Usman’s visionary leadership, commitment to excellence and capacity for institutional transformation.

He also applauded the Vice-Chancellor for his zero tolerance for cultism and other forms of campus criminality, describing his administration as one that had restored discipline, enhanced security and created an enabling environment for teaching, learning and research.

Describing Prof. Usman as a pacesetter and exemplary administrator, Comrade Muhammed expressed pride in his numerous accomplishments, and reassured him of the class’s continued support and prayers as he continues to steer the affairs of the University.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, expressed profound appreciation to his classmates for their show of love, solidarity, and goodwill.

He recalled that while serving as the Acting Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, before his substantive appointment, the St. Charles College Old Students Association was among the first groups to identify with him and demonstrate confidence in his leadership.

Prof. Usman noted that just as his administration was determined to reposition Kogi State Polytechnic and restore its lost glory, his administration would remain committed to repositioning Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, through purposeful leadership, innovation, unwavering commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed profound gratitude to the former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, CON, for giving him the opportunity to serve. He also appreciated the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his continuous support, which he said had been instrumental in advancing the growth and development of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.

Prof. Usman thanked his classmates for their humility, encouragement and unwavering support, and appealed them for their continued prayers as he continues to provide purposeful leadership for the University.

He assured them of his commitment to building a lasting legacy and pledged never to disappoint the confidence reposed in him.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a commemorative roll-up banner to the Vice-Chancellor by members of St. Charles College Set ’94.

In return, the Vice-Chancellor presented members of the delegation with copies of the maiden edition of the PAAU Bulletin, highlighting major events and achievements of the University since his assumption of office.
