Partnering to Advancing Digitisation of NBC,

BY ABUBAKAR YUSUF

The much talked about digitization in the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, wouldn’t have worked without the policy of partnerships introduced by the Director General, Chief Executive Officer of the commission, Dr Charles Ebuebu two year down the line.

With the wisdom, administrative and technocratic ideas of the current leadership, gradually the digitisation program has moved beyond mere lips service to real time implementation and execution.

The new approach has also confirmed the determination, efficiency and effectiveness of Dr Charles Ebuebu led NBC into prosecuting all necessary criteria to bringing the country into the committee of nations , and global interactions in the broadcasting industry.

With lack of digitisation and advancement of Broadcasting in the country, obviously broadcast organizations will be lagging behind in the committee of nations in the country and globally.

Therefore, on assumption of duty , Ebuebu devised the policy thrust of embarking on partnerships with both private and public entities with a view to forging the way forward, not only on digitisation, but other demanding programs of the organization.

The partnerships spread across CEMESCO, MTN, NCC and lately the NITDA no doubt will continue to promote the needed digitization, owing to the relevance of the entities both in operations, practices and execution of the age long digitization by the NBC.

Having attained relevancies in their various establishment in the area of digitisation, monitoring, implementation among many others ,the synergy needed by the Ebuebu led NBC will bring to fruition the desire for practical, theoretical and technical along technological innovations needed to advance the process going forward.

No doubt the engagement of new hands both administrative, technical and consultations by the current administration of Charles Ebuebu will soon put behind the policy of digitisation, of not only broadcasting, but it’s activities in the current era.

With the successful spread of networks , regulations, reforms and roles expected of the ongoing partners and more on the line , it is obvious the NBC will fulfill all righteous as per broadcast digitisation and also introduce new policies to sustain the success story .

All hands must be on deck to continue to support the implementation of the lauded initiatives of the Director General, Charles Ebuebu towards execution of his envisaged policy thrusts, actions and statements.
