PDP group tackles Fayose over comments concerning Makinde

The Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria group has described as mischievous claims by former Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State of what transpired behind closed doors between President Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Thursday at the Presidential Villa Abuja.
Fayose had claimed that Makinde had to take Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Muftwang, along as he could not face the president alone amongst other claims.
However, the pro-PDP group on Friday in Abuja described Fayose’s claims as outlandish, and eye service designed to maintain his servitude to the embattled minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.
“It didn’t come to well-meaning Nigerians and us as a surprise the distasteful and outlandish claims by Mr. Ayo Fayose that a serving governor, and a frontline one at that, will require the aid of another governor to see Mr. President,” the statement signed by Moses odibo, a member from Delta state, stated.
According to the civil society group, the image painted by Fayose of the president is far from who is as the father of the nation, describing the ex-Ekiti governor’s posturing as unfortunate.
“The President is a father to all. Even people with less stature than Governor Makinde have had audience with him. His Excellency Makinde going along with his brother Governor of Plateau State is a demonstration of their bond beyond party politics.
“It is not a belly-face kind of politics that Mr. Fayose is used to. It is saddening that as a former governor he still lacks civility, but has maintained the behavior of a tout which is not out of order as a former commercial bus driver.
“It must be stated that Governor Makinde holds the president in highest regard but will not shy away from issues of party politics and remains answerable only to the people of Oyo and not by the dictates of a partyless politician.
“We urge Nigerians to ignore the ranting of a man who has no regards for elders and his only claim to being noticed is to peddle falsehoods and cast aspersions on the integrity of those better than him,” the statement read.
