PDP Youth Leader of Kogi State Calls for Fair Treatment of Immediate Past Governor Yahaya Bello Amid Ongoing EFCC Proceedings
The Youth Leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Hon Prince Oluwakayode E.E, wishes to draw the attention of the general public and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to the significant achievements of the immediate past governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Governor Bello’s administration accomplished several remarkable feats that have positively impacted the lives of Kogi State citizens and transformed the state’s infrastructure and educational landscape. Among his notable achievements are:
World-Class Hospital: Governor Bello spearheaded the construction of a world-class hospital, providing top-notch healthcare services to the people of Kogi State and beyond.
Flyover Bridge: Under his leadership, the state witnessed the construction of a vital flyover bridge, easing traffic congestion and enhancing connectivity within the state.
Educational Hub: Governor Bello’s commitment to education is evident in his efforts to make Kogi State an educational hub. His administration brought an additional university to the state namely Kabba University, a feat no previous government had achieved.
Despite these commendable accomplishments, the past governor now faces unfounded allegations and potential human rights violations from the EFCC. This raises critical questions: Should his reward for these transformative contributions be baseless accusations and infringement on his rights? Is this not an attempt to undermine his legacy through tribal and partisan politics? Is this not part of the Igala agenda?
The PDP Youth Wing in Kogi State calls on the EFCC to ensure that their proceedings are fair, transparent, and free from any form of bias. We urge the Commission to focus on facts and evidence rather than allowing political or tribal influences to dictate their actions.
We also appeal to the general public to recognize the significant strides made by Governor Bello and to support the call for justice and fairness. It is essential that we uphold the principles of democracy, where individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty and are treated with respect and dignity.
The PDP Youth Wing stands firmly in defense of the rights and achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello. We will continue to advocate for justice, transparency, and accountability in all spheres of governance.
