PEOPLE, POLICY & PROGRESS: DUMSAA TO HOLD 3RD OGM WITH FOCUS ON FUTURE OF HEALTHCARE DELIVERY IN NIGERIA

October, 3, 2026

The Delsu Medical School Alumni Association (DUMSAA) is set to hold its 3rd Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) on Sunday, 4th October 2026, at 5:00 PM West Africa Time (WAT), via Microsoft Teams. The virtual gathering, hosted by DUMSAA President, Dr. Kennedy Oberhiri Obohwemu, promises to be a landmark occasion for the association and for the broader conversation around healthcare in Nigeria.

The meeting will be held under the thought-provoking theme, “People, Policy, and Progress: Shaping the Future of Healthcare Delivery in Nigeria,” a theme that speaks directly to the pressing challenges and transformative opportunities defining Nigeria’s healthcare landscape at this critical moment in the nation’s development.

Taking centre stage as Guest Speaker is Prof. Patrick Oyibo, a distinguished Professor of Public Health, whose depth of expertise in public health policy, systems, and practice makes him an ideal voice for a conversation of this magnitude. Prof. Oyibo’s address is widely anticipated to set the tone for a rich and substantive engagement among DUMSAA’s alumni community.

The choice of theme reflects DUMSAA’s continuing commitment to leveraging the collective expertise of its membership in service of Nigeria’s healthcare system. By bringing together medical professionals, alumni, and thought leaders on a single virtual platform, the association reaffirms its conviction that the future of healthcare delivery in Nigeria will be shaped not by policy alone, but by the people who champion it and the progress they are willing to drive.

Dr. Kennedy Oberhiri Obohwemu, President of DUMSAA, has called on all members and stakeholders to make the 3rd OGM a priority, describing it as an unmissable opportunity to connect, engage, and contribute meaningfully to one of the most important conversations of our time.

The 3rd OGM takes place on Microsoft Teams on Sunday, 4th October 2026, at 5:00 PM WAT.

Connect. Engage. Inspire. Build a Healthier Nigeria.

Signed:

Dr. Efe Clement Abel
Secretary General, Delsu Medical School Alumni Association (DUMSAA)

Dr. Victor Ifeanyi-Nze
Publicity and Relations Officer, Delsu Medical School Alumni Association (DUMSAA)
