Populist High Chief Wellington Bobo Urges President Tinubu and Nigerian Political Class to Remember Accountability to Almighty God and Allah

By Wilson Macaulay

Populist High Chief Wellington Bobo, the Oroupawei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, has made a passionate appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian political class, reminding them of their ultimate accountability to Almighty God and Allah, to whom they owe allegiance.

In a heartfelt statement delivered in Warri, Delta State, Chief Wellington Bobo, a prominent populist figure, urged Nigerian leaders to reflect on the gravity of their responsibilities. He stressed the importance of integrity, service, and dedication to the nation, warning that their positions are a sacred trust for which they will be held accountable, both by the people and by divine judgment.

Populist High Chief Bobo also highlighted the critical role Nigerian political leaders and the military’s top echelon play in safeguarding the nation’s future. He called on them to uphold their duty to Nigeria without compromise, emphasizing that they must honor their service with sincerity and accountability.

Addressing the younger generation, High Chief Bobo issued a stern warning against succumbing to the “get-rich-quick” mentality. He encouraged the Nigerian youths to pursue honest, hard work, cautioning that shortcuts to success often lead to moral decline and societal instability.

Populist High Chief Wellington Bobo also directed his message to President Tinubu, urging him to reassess his leadership style and establish more effective control mechanisms within his administration. He stressed that trust without control is futile and warned that for the Tinubu administration to succeed, it must prioritize accountability, trustworthiness, and integrity across all sectors.

He further advised the President to scrutinize institutions that have weakened over time, noting that if left unchecked, they could undermine his leadership. According to High Chief Bobo, institutions that have become ineffective should either be reformed or removed to prevent them from destabilizing governance. He specifically mentioned the need for a more proactive approach to avoid chaos and ensure that Nigerians experience the benefits of good governance.

He also urged the President to retain productive aides, such as Chief Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro PAP Administrator and Tantita Security Nigeria Limited, which have demonstrated effectiveness, while removing underperforming agencies and aides.

In a sobering tone, High Chief Bobo warned that Nigeria is at the risk of becoming a forgotten nation if the current economic hardships are not swiftly addressed. He called on President Tinubu to take immediate steps to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians, emphasizing that failure to act could push the country toward instability.

“If nothing is done to stem the tide of hardship, Nigeria could become a forgotten nation but —God forbid. Our leaders must remember that they are ultimately accountable to the people and to Almighty God and Allah,” Chief Bobo said.

As part of his broader appeal, Chief Bobo advocated for a renewed focus on mechanized agriculture to bolster Nigeria’s economy and food security. He urged President Tinubu to go beyond rhetoric and take concrete steps to promote agriculture, including encouraging schools to incorporate farm ownership into their programs. He also called on state governments to fully embrace agriculture, stressing that Nigeria cannot rely solely on oil revenues for its future.

“Mechanized agriculture is the future of Nigeria. To revive our economy and create jobs for our youth, we must prioritize agricultural development. Schools should be encouraged to own farms, and state governments should take active roles in promoting agricultural initiatives,” Chief Bobo stated.

In a significant display of patriotism, High Chief Wellington Bobo offered his expertise to assist the Tinubu administration in reintroducing the “Operation Feed the Nation” program. He emphasized that this initiative, if properly executed, could help Nigeria achieve food security and reduce the soaring cost of living.

High Chief Wellington Bobo’s message is a clarion call to all Nigeria’s political leaders to refocus their efforts on serving the nation with sincerity and accountability. His advice to President Tinubu to implement strong control measures and embrace agriculture is a blueprint for how Nigeria can overcome its challenges. Bobo’s reminder that leaders are ultimately accountable to Almighty God and Allah reinforces the moral responsibility that comes with leadership.

With the future of Nigeria at stake, Chief Wellington Bobo’s appeal offers a path forward rooted in trust, accountability, and the solemn oaths of office sworn by the nation’s leaders.
