President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Armed Forces, Security, and Intelligence Agencies to harmonize their operations and adopt a whole-of-society approach in addressing the nation’s evolving security challenges.

During the opening session of the Chief of Defence Staff Joint Task Force Commanders Conference held at Defence Headquarters in Abuja, President Tinubu, represented by the Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar CON, MNI, underscored the critical importance of joint operational effectiveness in combating Nigeria’s emerging security threats.

Unified Operational Approach: President Tinubu stressed that the security landscape is dynamic and constantly evolving, necessitating a harmonized and proactive strategy that leverages the combined strengths of the military, police, intelligence agencies, and other security organizations.

Commitment to National Security: The President commended the unwavering dedication and sacrifice of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) in safeguarding the nation. He reiterated his administration’s full support for all security agencies and highlighted the need for continuous strategy re-evaluation, integration of emerging technologies, and robust inter-agency cooperation.

Theme Alignment: The conference’s theme, “Enhancing Jointness across all Theatres of Operations,” was recognized as aligning seamlessly with the President’s strategic vision for a more secure Nigeria. “This forum is expedient and timely, especially at a juncture where our security environment demands innovative measures and enhanced collaboration,” the President remarked.

Call for Innovation and Collaboration: Emphasizing the importance of collective action, President Tinubu urged all participants to thoroughly explore and operationalize the concept of jointness. “Harness the power of emerging technologies and innovation to ensure multi-agency synergy on all fronts. This will enable the Armed Forces of Nigeria to remain agile, adaptable, and lethal in performance,” he stated.

President Tinubu also expressed his gratitude to the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, and all officers and personnel of the Armed Forces for their efforts in organizing the conference. He concluded by wishing the participants fruitful deliberations and expressed confidence that the outcomes of the conference will significantly enhance Nigeria’s national security framework.
