Prof Etukudoh’s Vision and Quest for Academic Excellence: A Focus on FCMLST Jos.
The Provost and Chief Executive Officer Of the Federal College of Medical Laboratory Sciences and Technology, Jos is a household name within and outside Plateau State.
Under his leadership,the College is witnessing series of impactful projects both physical and human capital developments with staff welfare as a priority.
Hitherto, the College operates at her temporary site but with the foresight and leadership dexterity of Prof. Etukudoh’s commitment and zeal for Transformation and uplifting the Standard of Science Education.
The bill establishing the College was passed by the National Assembly,Assented by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and gazzeted.
This feet has led to the expansion of infrastructures and programmes within the Institution.
The National Board for Technical Education,NBTE have been Commending the Management of the College for their efforts in putting the institution among the comity of Colleges in the Country.
Recently,the Provost led the management team for a courtesy call to the Executive Governor of Plateau State and seek for collaboration and partnership.
The National Assembly committee on Health Institutions, have been at the College for their Constitutional responsibilities of oversight.
No wonder,the Member representing Jos North/ Bassa Federal Constituency,Hon. Daniel Asama sponsored an establishment Bill for transforming the College to the Federal University of Medical Laboratory Sciences and Technology,Jos.
The Bill has been passed to third reading and awaits the Presidential assent.
It is a major achievement for the State to have such a university that will train medical Laboratory Scientists whose immense contributions to the health sector cannot be quantified.
The strategic location of the College close to JUTH, College of Basic Medicine, University of Jos,will offer a robust partnership.
As a leader with focus and creativity,he has partnered with the host community in various aspects through constant engagements and provision of some basic amenities such as roads, solar lights, boreholes,foodstuffs,drugs as a corporate social responsibilities of the Institution to the host community.
The Stability and tranquillity that’s existing between the college and the host community is what to be reckoned with.
The students and staff of the Institution’s welfare is a topmost priority,the provost is not resting on his oars to ensure the well-being of his staff.
