In a significant development for the Social work profession in Nigeria, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria gave assent to the Act establishing the Chartered Institute of Social Work Practitioners of Nigeria (Act No 25 of 2022). This landmark legislation marks the establishment of the first Social work professional and regulatory body in the country. The Act grants the Institute various powers, as outlined in the Federal Government Gazette No. 151 of 21st August 2022. Notably, the law empowers members of the Institute to affix a membership seal and stamp on all documents emanating from them, ensuring adherence to professional quality standards. The Act also aims to enhance identity, maintain practice excellence; and monitoring, enforcement and evaluation within the Social work profession.

The Executive Social Work Proficiency Program aims to enhance the knowledge, skills, and competencies of professionals in the field, ensuring that they are equipped to address the complex social issues facing Nigeria today. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in intensive training sessions, interactive workshops, and case studies, all facilitated by renowned experts in the field.
