The Association of African Universities AAU has Confered a prestigious Award of Honour on Professor Emeritus Olugbemiro Jegede for in recognition of his contributions in advancing in Africa Higher Education.

Professor Jegede was honoured with the Award at the the ongoing 22nd Conference of Rectors, Vice Chancellors, and Presidents of African Universities ( COREVIP 2023) taking place in Windhoek, Namibia.

Speaking with our correspondence after receiving the Award,
The Professor Emeritus stated with delights that ‘I am thrilled for this historic Award and for the honour done to me at the special occasion of the 2023 COREVIP’.

The conference, which draws participants from all African nations and delegates from USA, U.K, Brazil, Europe, Canada abd the Pacific commenced on Monday 3rd of July and it is slated to end on the 9th of July 2023.

The AAU noted that the Award recipient had in the time past and currently played prominent roles in the advancement and development of higher education in Africa having been a staunch stakeholder of the Association and a former leader at a time.
