Rainstorm Ravage FGGC, Kabba, Authorities call for assistance
The Federal Government Girls College, Kabba is a federal government post-primary educational institution managed by the Federal Ministry of Education has been ravaged by rainstorm destroying five buildings including, th Multipurpose hall, One of the hostels, SS1 Classes, Powered house, Clinic and many street lights donated by Hon James Abiodu Faleke.
The rainstorm has caused significant damage to the Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC) Kabba in Kogi State, Nigeria. Fortunately, no lives were lost during the storm.
The college’s Principal, Mrs. Olayinka Amosun Eniola, confirmed the damage, and High Chief Shuaib Ipinmisho, Chairman of the PTA, led an on-site assessment of the destruction.
The extent of the damage has been described as “worrisome” by Ipinmisho, who emphasized that it exceeds the capacity of the PTA and college management to repair immediately.
As a result, Ipinmisho has appealed for urgent assistance from the National Emergency Management Authority, well-meaning Nigerians, NGOs, and the Federal Ministry of Education.
The college has a strong reputation, with a good school environment, well-equipped laboratories, and a well-trained leader.
The rainstorm also caused significant damages in Kabba metropolis following the first rain that fell yesterday in the community.
