In the blessed and reflective atmosphere of Ramadan, a season defined by sacrifice, generosity, and devotion to Allah (SWT), the Maidoki Progressive Agenda (MPA) has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to humanity with the official launch of the Ramadan Feeding Project 1446 A.H (2026).
The initiative is proudly sponsored by the Distinguished Senator representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, Garba Musa Maidoki, whose leadership philosophy continues to center on compassion, grassroots development, and direct engagement with the needs of the people.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the Chairman of MPA, Abdulhamid Bala Manga, announced that this year’s Ramadan Feeding Project is designed to reach over 5,000 fasting individuals across Kebbi South and beyond. The program provides hot meals for Iftar, takeaway food packages, snacks, and drinking water to vulnerable families, orphans, patients, travelers, market traders, and low-income earners.
According to him, the project is not just about food distribution; it is about restoring hope and dignity during a time when many families face economic hardship. He emphasized that orphanages — including children and their caretakers — are key beneficiaries. Similarly, travelers and workers at Motor Park Zuru, petty traders and struggling families at Kasuwar Attah in Zuru, and vulnerable patients at hospitals are all included in the feeding schedule.
“This initiative reflects the true spirit of Ramadan — mercy, generosity, and community solidarity,” the Chairman stated. He also called on well-meaning individuals, stakeholders, and philanthropists to partner with MPA in expanding the humanitarian mission.
One of the highlights of the project was the feeding exercise conducted at General Hospital Zuru, where approximately 250 beneficiaries — including patients, caregivers, orphans, and underprivileged children — received food support.
Hospital environments can be particularly challenging during Ramadan. Caregivers often spend long hours attending to sick relatives with little time or resources to secure proper meals.
Through this intervention, MPA ensured that both patients and their caregivers could break their fast with dignity and without additional financial stress.
The program will continue daily throughout the 30 days of Ramadan, reaffirming Senator Maidoki’s long-term commitment rather than a one-off charitable gesture.
Promoting Responsible and People-Oriented Leadership
The Ramadan Feeding Project stands as a powerful example of people-centered leadership. Senator Garba Musa Maidoki’s sponsorship of the initiative reflects a governance approach that prioritizes the welfare of the vulnerable.
Observers note that beyond legislative duties, the Senator has consistently supported social welfare initiatives through the platform of MPA, reinforcing his reputation as a grassroots-oriented representative. Community members have described the Ramadan feeding effort as timely, impactful, and deeply appreciated — especially in light of prevailing economic challenges.
MPA has framed the initiative under three guiding principles: Compassion, Service, and Community Development. These pillars align with broader efforts to promote social inclusion, reduce hardship, and strengthen unity within Kebbi South.
Ramadan feeding programs hold immense spiritual and social significance in Islam. Feeding a fasting person carries great reward, fosters unity, and reduces inequality within society. Such initiatives: Support vulnerable populations during a spiritually significant month, Strengthen communal bonds and shared responsibility,
Encourage philanthropy and civic engagement and
Promote peace, empathy, and social stability.
Ramadan Feeding Project as an annual and continuous program, MPA is not only addressing immediate hunger but also cultivating a culture of organized humanitarian service.
Special recognition was given to the dedicated volunteers whose tireless service ensures smooth coordination and equitable distribution. Their commitment, discipline, and sincerity have been described as the backbone of the program’s success.
As prayers were offered for continued peace, progress, and good governance, beneficiaries expressed gratitude and prayed for Allah’s blessings upon Senator Maidoki and all contributors to the noble cause.
While Ramadan remains the focal point of this humanitarian outreach, stakeholders affirm that the broader vision of the Maidoki Progressive Agenda extends beyond seasonal interventions. It aims to deepen community development efforts, empower the less privileged, and promote sustainable social impact across Kebbi South.
As the Ramadan Feeding Project 1446 A.H (2026) progresses, it stands not only as a charitable effort but as a symbol of responsive leadership and organized compassion.
May Allah (SWT) accept the efforts of all those involved and reward them abundantly. May this initiative continue to uplift lives and strengthen the bonds of unity within our communities.
