REJOINDER: HON. TAUFIQ ABSENT AS IJUMU APC INAUGURATES CAMPAIGN COUNCIL
It has come to our notice, an accusation targeted at maligning the political image of the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, Hon. Taufiq Isa by an unknown person through Kogireports blog that he is holding secret meetings with opposition candidates.
Ordinarily, we would have not bother ourselves to give it’s any attention to ignored lie emanated from the enemies of the cordial relationship between the Council Chairman and the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello but to keep the reading public abreast of the true position of things and set the record straight.
In view of the accusation meted on the Executive Chairman, “I wish to state as follows:
He was not at the Ijumu campaign council inauguration as a result of his official engagement at the ALGON National headquarters at Abuja.
That, he remain a loyal founding member of the All Progressives Congress and will not for any reasons hold meetings/work for opposition candidates who don’t have chance of winning in saturday’s election.
Ijumu people and by extension Kogi West senatorial district are aware of the energy and resources he has dispensed in stabilizing All Progressives Congress.
That the accusation alleging the Council Chairman of holding meeting is false and malicious. It is on good authority, that some agents of destruction from the Local Government are the sole sponsors of the writeup to discredit him and cause confusion between him,His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello and the incoming Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo.
It is on record that, he has always win his polling unit and ward for APC and this coming gubernatorial election won’t be an exception.
Aside the ward of the Governor in Okene, Odokoro/Okoro/Araromi ward produced the largest vote for a All Progressives Congress in previous elections.
It is also on record that false accusations don’t win elections, rather we should all go back to our various polling units/wards to work for the All Progressives Congress.
I implore those who are head bent at peddling and sponsoring false rumors about his person to retract such. Those agents of distraction should have a rethink and use their energy at ensuring smooth campaign, about to start today, that can bring ultimate victory for the party come November 11th,2023.
The Executive Chairman has always appreciate the Executive Governor of Kogi State,Alh. Yahaya Bello for the confidence reposed in him and will continue to do so.
