REJOINDER TO SENATOR NATASHA AKPOTI’S FALSE AND MALICIOUS ALLEGATIONS

The attention of APC Group (Tinubu-Shettima Grassroots Connects), Lokoja has been drawn to a recent viral video in which Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan made grave, unfounded, and incendiary allegations against the Senate President, His Excellency Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Yahaya Bello. These baseless claims, made during what can only be described as an illegal political gatherings/rally in Ihima, Okehi LGA yesterday, are not only reckless and lawless but also a desperate attempt to incite public unrest and mislead the people of Kogi State.

Setting the Records Straight:

1. A Desperate Political Stunt
Senator Natasha’s allegations are nothing but a politically motivated stunt aimed at whipping up sentiments and diverting attention from her own legal and political troubles. It is a known fact that she has been at the center of various controversies, and her suspension from the Senate is based on due process, not persecution.

2. The Allegations Are Baseless and Criminally Defamatory
The claim that the Senate President and former Governor Yahaya Bello conspired to orchestrate her recall or assassination is not only absurd but criminally defamatory. No credible evidence has been presented to support such a dangerous accusation. This is a clear attempt to stir ethnic and political tension, which must be condemned in the strongest terms.

3. Incitement and Public Disorder
The illegal nature of her so-called rally further exposes her disregard for the rule of law. Rather than engaging in meaningful representation, she has chosen to resort to rabble-rousing and incitement. Such inflammatory statements have the potential to destabilize peace in Kogi State, and security agencies must take note of this blatant attempt to cause unrest.

4. Legal Implications of False Accusations
Making unfounded claims of attempted assassination is not just irresponsible; it is criminal. The relevant authorities must investigate this matter thoroughly, the law must take its full course to prevent further abuse of free speech for political blackmail.

5. A Pattern of False Accusations
Senator Natasha Akpoti is notorious for making baseless allegations against political figures and public personalities. This is not the first time she has attempted to gain sympathy through fabricated stories. Her history of making controversial and unverified claims is well-documented, and Nigerians should not be deceived by this latest stunt.
A prime example of her tendency to fabricate stories is her past false allegation against Reno Omokri, where she accused him of harassment without any proof. That baseless claim was thoroughly debunked, exposing her as someone who leverages false narratives for political mileage. This latest allegation follows the same pattern and should be dismissed as another desperate ploy for attention.

A Call for Political Maturity and Responsibility

The good people of Kogi State and Nigeria at large deserve leadership built on truth, accountability, and development, not baseless propaganda and political theatrics. We urge Senator Natasha to desist from making reckless, inciting and false statements/allegations at every of her lawless outing that endanger lives and focus on engaging in constructive politics.

Furthermore, we call on security agencies to investigate these serious allegations and ensure that those who spread falsehood and incite public disorder are held accountable.

Nigeria’s democracy must not be undermined by desperate politicians who see politics as a game of lies and cheap blackmail.
