Renewed Hope Coordinator Urges Bayelsans to Re-elect President Tinubu – Cites reforms, projects and increased allocations

The Bayelsa State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Project, Commander Waritimi Parker, has appealed to Bayelsans to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, saying the administration’s economic reforms and development projects are laying the foundation for national recovery.

According to the State Director of Media and Publicity of the group, Deacon Tari Agai, General Parker, a former agitator who believes that President Tinubu is delivering the future the Niger Delta has long agitated for, made the appeal at an executive council meeting in Yenagoa on Sunday.
Parker said the extent of the damage inflicted on the country by previous administrations required more than four years for a serious and committed government to reverse.
“The rot we met was enormous. The economy was bleeding, infrastructure had collapsed, and our institutions were weakened.
“It will take more than one tenure for a serious administration to fix it. That is why we must give President Tinubu another four years.
“By the time his economic reforms, regionalisation, projects and other policies begin to synchronise, Nigeria will be the envy of Africa,” he said.
General Parker highlighted some of the achievements of the Tinubu administration, including ongoing economic reforms, investments in infrastructure and efforts to promote regional economic expansion aimed at unlocking growth across the six geopolitical zones.
He noted that the removal of fuel subsidy had significantly increased federal allocations to states, enabling governors to execute major development projects in their respective states.
“Because of the subsidy removal, Bayelsa and other states are now receiving more money. That is why you are seeing governors doing more roads, more schools and more hospitals,” he explained.
While commending President Tinubu for the construction of the second phase of the Nembe-Brass Road, Parker described the project as a major boost to the economy of Bayelsa State, particularly for coastal communities and the maritime sector.
He also commended the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, for what he described as “unprecedented developments” across the state.
“The governor deserves commendation for the improvements we are experiencing in power supply, road construction and other major projects, including the building and establishment of new science and technical colleges across all eight local government areas of the state.
“These initiatives will promote skills-based education and reduce reliance on white-collar jobs,” Parker said.
“Most importantly, the relative peace he has brought has trickled down to all parts of the state, and that peace is what is attracting development.”
Parker also expressed appreciation to the Director-General of the group, Hon. Dahuda Shalihu; the Grand Patron, Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation; the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Gen. Abdulmalik Jibrin (retd.); and the Secretary, Board of Trustees, High Chief Abednego Don Evarada, for their support and efforts toward ensuring the success of the group’s activities.
He urged the good people of Bayelsa State to support continuity at the federal level, saying that doing so would ensure the completion of ongoing projects and the consolidation of reforms for the benefit of Bayelsa State and Nigeria at large.
