Respite In Jos: As PLSG Cleared Illegal Structures.

The Chilly and Serene City of Jos,the Plateau state Capital is now wearing a new look as the Home of Peace and Tourism,this feat was recorded as the time is now Administration swung into action and removed illegal structures that hitherto occupied by traders at the road sides at the city centre that’s the popular Terminus Market,Murtala Mohammed Way,Ahmadu Bello Way,Bauchi road among other places.

This exercise has been a routine one by the previous administrations in the State but have not yielded any positive results due to the unsustainability of it.

A cross section of Jos residence,express their happiness with the policy and urged the Government to sustained it and sustain it for the progress of the state.

A visit by our Correspondent at Terminus indicates that,the road sides has been all cleared and leveled by the heavy equipment by the Agencies of Government like JMDB,PEPSA,Jos Main Market Authority,Plateau Express Services,Ministry of Environment, Transport among others.

In his response to Newsmen in Jos,the Acting General manager of the Jos Main Market Authority,Mr. Zapishma Isah said the essence of the exercise is to give way for the Launching of the metro buses and that will be done by the executive Governor of the state, the buses were bought 3 Months ago and have not been put into use so it is aimed at launching these buses so that there will be subsisdy on transportation within Jos Metropolis and as the road are cleared now, the luxurious buses can freely negotiate when carrying passengers.

According to him,those traders on the road have no economic benefits to the state interms of revenue, now we are making an appropriate places for them.

This peaceful implementation that you have seen is as a result of a long time negotiation with the traders telling them the benefits of the exercise and they have complied with us.
