The attention of concerned stakeholders and loyal supporters of Senator Garba Musa Maidoki has been drawn to the reckless, misleading, and politically motivated statement issued by the Kebbi State APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Kana Zuru (Ganuwan Zuru), against the Distinguished Senator representing Kebbi South Senatorial District.
Ordinarily, such baseless propaganda and emotional blackmail do not deserve a response, but in order to correct the deliberate falsehoods being spread to deceive the public, it has become necessary to put the facts on record.
First and foremost, Alhaji Kana Zuru lacks the moral standing to lecture anybody about party loyalty, responsibility, or leadership. Under his leadership, APC in Kebbi State has continued to suffer division, mistrust, favoritism, and political intolerance. The party chairman has reduced APC to a personal company where only loyalists and political servants are recognized, while genuine party stakeholders are sidelined and humiliated.
It is an open secret within political circles in Kebbi State that the APC Chairman and some desperate political actors demanded political resources and patronage from Senator Garba Musa Maidoki for selfish political interests.
When the Senator refused to bow to political extortion and refused to compromise his principles, a campaign of blackmail and frustration was launched against him.
The same Alhaji Kana Zuru who is now pretending to defend the party is one of the major architects of the growing crisis and disunity within Kebbi APC. Instead of building unity and strengthening the party, he has continued to create camps, encourage bitterness, and sponsor attacks against respected members of the party who refuse to worship him politically.
It is therefore laughable for him to accuse Senator Maidoki of causing confusion when the entire state knows that APC in Kebbi has never been this divided, weakened, and disconnected from the grassroots until the emergence of the current party leadership.
The Chairman must understand clearly that Senator Garba Musa Maidoki remains one of the most respected political figures in Kebbi South whose popularity and acceptance among the people cannot be erased through cheap media propaganda.
Unlike some political appointees who survive on intimidation and manipulation, Senator Maidoki built his political strength through years of service, sacrifice, and direct relationship with the people.
The attempt by Kana Zuru to portray Senator Maidoki as politically frustrated is not only dishonest but also a sign of fear. The truth is that many APC supporters across Kebbi State are disappointed with the current style of leadership within the party, where personal interest has replaced justice, consultation, and inclusiveness.
Furthermore, no reasonable person can deny the fact that internal suppression, lack of transparency, poor political management, and deliberate marginalization of key stakeholders are among the biggest problems currently facing APC in Kebbi State. Rather than addressing these realities, the Chairman has chosen the path of insults and political intimidation.
It is also important to remind Alhaji Kana Zuru that leadership is not about issuing threats and attacking perceived opponents. A responsible party chairman should focus on reconciliation, fairness, and strengthening democratic values within the party instead of fueling unnecessary hostility.
If there is anybody who should take responsibility for the political embarrassment and weakening of APC structures in Kebbi State, it is Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Kana Zuru and those using the party machinery for personal gain. Their style of leadership has alienated loyal party members and created avoidable tension across the state.
The people of Kebbi State are politically aware and cannot be deceived by carefully arranged propaganda designed to silence opposing voices. Senator Garba Musa Maidoki merely exercised his democratic right to speak on issues affecting the party and the people he represents.
No amount of intimidation, sponsored media attacks, or character assassination can change the fact that many APC members are unhappy with the current direction of the party under Kana Zuru’s leadership.
Finally, we advise the APC Chairman to stop behaving as if APC belongs to him alone. The party belongs to all members, not a selected political circle controlled by personal interest and favoritism.
Instead of attacking Senator Maidoki, Alhaji Kana Zuru should carry his own cross and take responsibility for the growing dissatisfaction, internal crisis, and political setbacks currently facing APC in Kebbi State.
