Rt. Hon. Isa Ajiji: A Leader with Charisma and Passion for Development of Jos East Constituency
The current Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Isa Madaki Ajiji, has been making waves and sparking discussions within Jos East and beyond.
The reason for all the attention is the praise and admiration he has received from members of his constituency and others.
Elected to represent the people of Jos East Constituency for two years, Rt. Hon. Ajiji’s leadership style has earned him widespread admiration. As a workaholic legislator, he has executed various infrastructure projects and personal interventions, benefiting his constituency through partnerships with governmental and non-governmental organizations.
Some have nicknamed him the “bulldozer,” while others consider him the best and most performing member in the history of Jos East Constituency.
Despite being in office for barely two years, Rt. Hon. Ajiji has attracted significant development to the constituency and secured employment opportunities for hundreds of youths. Jos East Local Government Area operates a zoning arrangement for political positions, but the current member’s exceptional performance has sparked debate about whether the position should be zoned to Fursum District or if Rt. Hon. Ajiji should be supported for re-election.
Some people believe that Fursum District should be allowed to present candidates based on the zoning formula, while others argue that Rt. Hon. Ajiji’s performance and experience as Deputy Speaker warrant his re-election.
According to them, the legislative arm requires someone to spend more than one tenure, and the people should consider this for the progress of Jos East.
As the 2027 General elections approach, some aspirants from Fursum District have indicated interest in running for the position. It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds.
