He said the road need drainage to control erosion, which requires about 2km concrete drainage, stating that the road project is not captured in the budget but he decided to flag of the road.

“Your Excellency, if I don’t start off the drainage and construction of the road by next rainy season, we will not see anyone here next year and I don’t want that to happen, for the drainage the contractor has been paid 70% and it will take at least eight to nine weeks to achieve the drainage. Immediately after the drainage the road will be asphalted”.

“The community is not accessible,  for easy access one has to follow through  the by-pass due to deep gully erosion that has affected more than 3 parts of the road, these has limited the access to the community easily. We have other roads under construction but because of your time, at the appropriate time we will come and commission the roads”, he said.

Hon. Leke Abejide stated that the road was rehabilitated by him but he couldn’t complete it due to funds and how to control the gully to stop the erosion, a community member wrote a petition against him with thoughts that the project was captured in the budget.

“The road is not in the budget, some of my projects are genuinely out of love and passion for the people of Yagba, some times to get projects into the budget is like a carmel passing through the eye of a needle.

Hon. Leke urged the people of the community to support government officials who have the interest of the masses at heart, while congratulating the people of Makutu.

Hon. Abejide commended the humility of Governor Ododo stating that his leadership style is embedded with great humbleness and modesty which has catapulted him to secure his second term in office.

“Governor Ododo is the first governor in Kogi state that has successfully brought all opposition parties together, even if I don’t want to join the All Progressive Congress APC, because of this singular act I will join when the time is right for now I am yet to decamp, he said”.

Hon. Leke Abejide reinstated his resolve to continue to support the governor and his government to succeed in Kogi state as the leader and number one citizen of Kogi State.

Governor Ododo, Rt.Hon. Leke Abejide, Hon. Dare Joshua and other government functionaries officially flagged-off the Kajola-Obada Makutu Isanlu road for construction.
