Rt. Hon. Mathew Kolawole Pays Royal Visit to Alayere of Ayere Land, Seeks Royal Blessings

Akin Fanodun – Kabba

In a remarkable show of respect for tradition and cultural heritage, the former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mathew Olusola Kolawole, today paid a royal visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba Julius Olu Olumodeji, the Alayere of Ayere Land, at his palace in Ayere, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

During the visit, Rt. Hon. Kolawole extolled the virtues and contributions of one of Ayere’s illustrious sons, Prince Olatunji Olusoji, who also bears the prestigious traditional title of Asiwaju of Ayere Land. He described the Asiwaju as a dependable and development-focused leader whose unwavering commitment to the growth of Ayere community is worthy of emulation.

The visit also served as an avenue for Rt. Hon. Kolawole to seek royal blessings both for himself and for the Asiwaju of Ayere Land as they continue to contribute their quota to the socio-political and economic advancement of the community, Ijumu LGA, and Kogi State at large.

Rt. Hon. Kolawole emphasized the importance of maintaining strong ties between political leadership and traditional institutions, noting that such synergy is vital for fostering peace, unity, and sustainable development.

The Alayere of Ayere Land, in his response, appreciated the former Speaker’s humility and recognition of traditional authority, while also offering royal prayers for continued wisdom, strength, and success in all his endeavors.

The visit was symbolic and timely, reaffirming the need for unity and cooperation among leaders, stakeholders, and the traditional institution for the overall progress of Ayere and its people.
