Security: KGSG Collaborates with Mopamuro Traditional Council

Kogi State Government (KGSG) has initiated more collaboration with Mopamuro Traditional Council (MATC) to further fasten the security of Okun land and Kogi State generally This was made known in a meeting initiated by the State Government via the office of the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara rtd. with MATC in Mopa on Friday.

MATC hosted the meeting at personal residence of the Elulu of Mopa, and Chairman, MATC, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Oba (Dr.) Muyiwa Ibeun, in attendance also is the Alamuro of Amuro, and Vice Chairman, MATC, HRM Oba (Engr.) Modupe Alfred Aiyedogbon, other Chiefs and Kings who are members of MATC.

During the meeting, the State Security Adviser (SSA), in his remark appreciated the council for maintaining relative peace in Mopamuro, adding that it serves as a pointer to the security efforts of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for the peace and development of Kogi State.

He emphasized the importance of Mopamuro due to its strategic central location in Okun land to the security of not only Okun land but to Kogi West and Kogi State entirely. He urged the traditional council to take advantage of their nearness to the people at the grassroot to transmit security orientation to them, working with the various security outfits.

He asked the security outfit to continually cooperate with the traditional institution to give proper security orientation to the people, especially taking cognizance of their environment, observe strange faces and movement, and call for security help where necessary to forestall insecurity.

Oba Ibeun, in his remark, appreciated the State Government under the leadership of Governor Usman Ododo, also office of the State Security adviser for their efforts, ensuring the security of lives and properties in the state He said MATC will continually support the effort of the government to ensure security of the people by profiling strangers with security agencies.

Oba Aiyedogbon also lauds the Government, Governor and SSA Omodara for identifying with MATC, assured them that the entire Mopamuro will raise its bar to ensure Mopamuro and its environs is secured, and that will not be home for criminals.

Also, in attendance are heads of NPF, NSCDC, KSVS, DSS, and FRSC.
