By Onjefu Ajeibi | 01 June 2024

The senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro PhD, on Saturday fulfilled his promise to the Nigerian Union of Teachers(NUT) and Nigerian Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE), Benue South Chapters.

Senator Moro had promised the two unions during one of his political outings in the recent past and fulfilled the promise by presenting mini buses to the two unions’ and individuals to support their affairs and enhance the smooth running of their operations.

Presenting the unprecedented gifts to the unions, Benue State PDP Chairman, Sir John Ngbede was full of joy as he expressed gratitude to the Senator. He described the gesture as first of its kind in the entire Benue State. Sir Ngbede who was so happy stated that it was a clear justification for electing good leaders into notable positions and that he wasn’t surprised as Abba Moro is always known for doing good and keeping to his words as a man of integrity he has always been.

The Benue State PDP Chairman noted that he was once a NULGE leader and that the two bodies always work together. He was full of praises for the senator for everything he has been doing for the people of Zone C and keeps doing more.

Equity distribution of the vehicles shows that each of both NUT & NULGE chairmen from each of the nine (9) local governments in Zone C went home with a vehicle.

Speaking on behalf of NULGE, Mr Benedict Eimonye described Senator Abba Moro as a selfless leader and a man of his words. He thanked the Senator for all the support he has been rendering to the union and pledged their continuous support for him. He used the opportunity to remind the NULGE members that Senator Abba Moro was the sponsor of the Local Government Autonomy Bill which is basically in the interest of the local government councils. He prayed God to spare the senator’s life to keep doing the good things he is always known for.

On the other hand, speaking on behalf of NUT, Mr Ejeh Boniface thanked the Senator for having them in his mind all along right from when he was the chairman of Okpokwu Local Government council and ALGON chairman, Benue state and minister of interior. He thanked the Senator for all the tremendous support they have been receiving, job creation for youths and uncountable appointments given to youths. He urged the Senator to remain steadfast and not to depart from all the humanitarian gestures which has set him out among his equals. He prayed God to elongate his life, bless and uplift him to the greatest height in his political career.

The distribution was witnessed by close associates of the senator such as Former Commissioner, Godwin Oyiwona; Member representing Okpokwu State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Anthony Agom; former GM BENSESA, Rt. Hon. Solomon Onah; Former Vice Chairman of Ogbadibo LGC, Hon. Ben Ebije; Comrade Augustine Ochiga and a host of others.
