Abuja- Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada is one of Nigeria’s accomplished public servants, renowned for his distinguished career in public administration, legislative leadership, and commitment to democratic governance. Representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly, he has built a reputation as an experienced lawmaker, administrator, and development advocate whose public service spans more than two decades.

Ahmed Aliyu Wadada began his educational journey at Abdu Zanga Primary School, Keffi, before proceeding to Government Secondary School, Miango, Plateau State, where he obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC). He further attended the School of Preliminary Studies (SPS), Keffi, laying a solid academic foundation for higher education.
Driven by a passion for business and management, he enrolled at the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, where he earned a National Diploma (ND) in Business Administration in 1987 and later obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration and Management in 1993.
Before venturing into politics, Senator Wadada distinguished himself in both the banking and private sectors, acquiring extensive managerial and administrative experience.
His professional career included service as,
Senior Clerk at the United Bank for Africa (UBA),
Procurement Officer at Benue Cement Company,
Distribution Manager at Kano Tobacco Distribution Company,
Administrative Manager and Personal Assistant to the Chairman of Vision Group.
These diverse professional experiences equipped him with practical knowledge in administration, finance, procurement, corporate management, and organizational leadership, qualities that later became invaluable in public service.
Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada entered active politics in 2003 when he was elected to represent the Keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
His impressive performance earned him re-election, serving two consecutive terms between 2003 and 2011. During his tenure in the House of Representatives, he provided effective legislative leadership by chairing strategic committees, including,
House Committee on Capital Market and Institutions
House Committee on Information and National Orientation. He also served as a member of several important committees, including: National Security,
Commerce, Gas, Police Affairs and Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Throughout his years in the House, Senator Wadada became known for his diligence, thoughtful legislative contributions, and unwavering commitment to accountability, transparency, and national development.
Following his tenure in the National Assembly, Senator Wadada continued to serve the nation as Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). In this capacity, he played significant roles in:
Budget coordination,
Project monitoring and evaluation, Legislative liaison with the National Assembly
Policy implementation and administrative oversight
His contributions strengthened institutional coordination between the executive and legislative arms of government and enhanced project delivery within the FCT Administration.
Return to the Senate
Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Senator Wadada demonstrated political courage and conviction by leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) following disagreements over the party’s senatorial primary process.
He subsequently contested the election under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and secured a decisive victory to represent the people of Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
His victory reaffirmed the confidence and trust reposed in him by the people, who continue to appreciate his record of responsive representation and effective leadership.

Since assuming office as Senator, Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has continued to distinguish himself through purposeful legislative engagement and oversight responsibilities.
