Women in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State were filled with joy as the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, empowered over 500 women with a cash grant of ₦20,000 each as part of his ongoing grassroots empowerment initiative.

The empowerment programme, which took place amid a large gathering of party supporters and community members, was aimed at boosting small-scale businesses, alleviating economic hardship, and strengthening women’s participation in community development.

Speaking at the event, the Kano State APC Treasurer, Hon. Yardada Maikano Bichi, highlighted the importance of political awareness and unity among women. She urged beneficiaries to remain committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasizing the need to support the party “from top to bottom” in all forthcoming elections.
Hon. Yardada called on the women to be proactive during election periods by coming out en masse to vote, stressing that their collective strength could determine electoral success and ensure continued dividends of democracy.

She also expressed deep appreciation to Senator Barau Jibrin, fondly referred to as DPS, for his consistent commitment to the welfare of both men and women across Kano State. According to her, the empowerment scheme reflects the Senator’s people-oriented leadership and dedication to inclusive development.
Several party leaders and government officials in attendance delivered goodwill messages, commending Senator Barau’s leadership style and describing the initiative as timely and impactful, especially in the face of prevailing economic challenges.

The event concluded peacefully, with prayers offered for continued progress and blessings for Senator Barau Jibrin. The women of Bichi were seen celebrating enthusiastically, expressing gratitude and pledging their continued support.
