Senator Karimi Condoles with Families, Victims of Abugi and Kupa Armed Fulani Attacks, Calls for Urgent Action
The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sunday Karimi, has extended his condolences to the families of the victims of the armed men’s attack in Abugi and Kupa communities of Lokoja Local Government earlier today, reportedly resulting in the loss of lives and destruction of property.
Senator Karimi lamented the incessant attacks on defenseless Kogites and called for robust measures to be put in place by the military and all security agencies to complement the efforts of the state government in ending this spate of bloodletting across the state.
The Senator stated:
“The news of another violent attack in Abugi and Kupa earlier today by mindless and bloodthirsty gunmen is unfortunate and heartbreaking. These latest attacks on defenseless citizens are unacceptable and security agencies must intensify efforts to be proactive, complement the effort of the state government, and hunt down the attackers and all their collaborators. They must be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
“These incessant attacks on our people have no place anywhere, especially at a time when the federal government is working hard to restore peace and order in all parts of our country.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and all those affected by this senseless attack. No community should have to endure such tragedy and as such, we must all unite to foster peace and stability. I urge all of us, regardless of ethnic, religious, or political affiliations, to uphold our shared humanity and embrace peace, while also reporting any suspicious movement of persons to the appropriate security agencies.”
