Senator Karimi Empowers Women in Lokoja with N15 Million

Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has kick-started the second phase of his Women Empowerment Program in Lokoja Local Government Area.
The program, which aims to support women in various communities, saw seven cooperative groups benefit from a total sum of N15 million.
Each of the seven groups, comprising at least 15 members, received a cheque of N2 million. The groups were carefully selected based on their potential for growth and impact in their respective communities.
The Coordinator of the program, Mrs. Olamide Babalola Adesoro, conveyed the goodwill message of the Senator’s wife, Mrs. Stellamaris Karimi, highlighting the crucial role women play in society.
She emphasized that women are the backbone of the society and need to be supported to build their communities.
Mrs. Adesoro urged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds judiciously and avoid spending on frivolities.
The beneficiaries, in turn, expressed their gratitude to Senator Karimi and his wife for their generosity and commitment to empowering women.
The Senator’s Women Empowerment Program is an annual initiative, with N100 million allocated for this year.
Over 50 registered women cooperative groups will benefit from the program, which aims to expand businesses, increase income, and improve living standards in Kogi West and beyond.
Senator Karimi reiterated his commitment to implementing President Tinubu’s youth and women empowerment policies, emphasizing the importance of supporting women in the society.
